Every horde of gobbos needs half a dozen keanos who lack the common sense innate in most of their kind to be at the back of a crowd.
Being at the back is great - get to the enemy when they are broken and bleeding from the attentions of the first 6 ranks. Get a head start when the need for 'rapid redeployment' has become obvious. Be in a position to offer helpful advice to your peers at those crucial moments ('stab 'im in da knackers!').
The downside of this goblin mindset is that with 70 gobbos all straining to be at the back, any forward movement becomes almost impossible. Luckily a few gobbos allow their ego to outweigh their cowardice, with some encouragement from their 'pals' ('Hey, 'Arry, dat armer looks wickid on you, mate').
When some High Elf on a Dragon approaches the mob, a falsetto voice from the back cries 'I'll 'ave you ya fooker!', and as the gobbo at the front in the shoddy armout is pushed forward by a boot on his arse, the mob can relax as an uneven and brief 1-2-1 challenge is fought. When the 'fight' finishes, the mysterious process is repeated, as the fellow with the skull-shield is propelled from the ranks.
