The War for Northfield
The second skirmish of our campaign took place today. Taking advantage of the great terrain and baby-free environment of the excellent Titan Games in Stourbridge, four gangs (Jon's State, the Hunt, the Meat Eaters and the Longbridge Workers' Militia) slugged it out over 7 rare loot caches.
The skirmish quickly developed into two mostly seperate fights - the Hunt trying to keep the Meat Eaters at arms length and a brutal toe-to-toe between the State and the Workers' Militia.
Key moments came when the cannibal leader went down early to a shot from Tigraine. Cannibal Shrimp and another cannibal followed in quick succession.
In a good day for the Hunt, they got two lots of rare loot, and finished off the three downed cannibals and a State trooper, enough points to secure the area.
The State's day went less well, despite gaining 1 rare loot, with all their team incapacitated, with several, including their monstrous leader, finished off. Awful luck played an amusing / distressing part in their decline.
The Worker's Militia had a good outing, playing crucial cards at the right time, such as getting the State sniper to fall through the floorboards of his perfect nest. One rare loot and two state men finished off - one up close and personal.
The Meat Eaters collected two rare items, but only two cannibals made it out. Their rocket launcher guy may have been man of the match - a peach of a shot ruining the State's already cloudy day, and singeing Percival (who was later heal by the good doctor).
Post match rolls saw all of the finished off guys back in the campaign, although a little less capably than before (-1 toughness for state heavy, and 2 cannibals on -1 in melee). Great fun!
