The Longbridge Workers' Militia is, at it's heart, compromised of three families: the Murphys, the Cartwrights and the Browns.
The core families that would become the Longbridge Workers' Militia survived the exchange of nuclear arsenals that herald the birth of Post-apocalypse Britain by the fortunate coincidence that they were on holiday in Borth, near Aberystwyth at the time.
The families voted unanimously to head back toward Longbridge and Northfield in order to help friends and neighbours who may have survived the blasts.
Unfortunately, the chaos of F-UK ensured this journey across the dead earth would take some years, that the families would lose loved ones along the way, and that their experiences would harden their instinctive left-wing views into a hardened ideology of communism and guerrilla war.
