The last campaign turn we had, turns out we got the rules a bit wrong. We ruled that your gang could exit the skirmish by any handy board edge, and only loot had to be dropped off via your deployment zone. I don't know why we came to this conclusion, I suspect it wasn't my fault.
Realisation of this blunder - and the effect it had on the outcome of the game (stopping Rob's Workers' Militia from tackling the bulk of the Meat Eaters) has caused some reflection. Jon has decided to make some 6" by 6" deployment zone markers, and has started giving these creations some, erm, personality.
Meanwhile, I have started some house rules amendments to govern those situations where one or more of your gang chooses to leave the skirmish from other than your deployment zone:
At the end of the skirmish roll a D6
1 - 'A sticky end'. Your gang member never makes it back to base. You can only presume that she ran into some serious trouble.
2 - 'You'll never believe what happened to me'. Your gang member makes it back after missing 1 campaign turn, full of stories of wild adventures.
3 - 'I'm back, and look what I found'. Your gang member is back, and in somewhat questionable circumstances, has brought back some rare loot - draw one rare loot card.
4 - 'if you want her back, you'll have to pay'. Your gang member has fallen into the hands of some bad people. Pay d6 x 10 points to get her back, or refer to BETRAYED special rule.
5 - 'It's bad out there' your gang member is back, but has sustained an injury - pay 10 points to heal or lose -1toughness.
6 - 'erm, it's complicated'. Your gang member is back, but on a further roll of an odd number, does so naked - sans equipment of any kind, except a longsword. Something a bit like what happened to Bruce Willis and Marcellis in Pulp Fiction happened on the way home.
BETRAYED - If you choose not to pay, or are unable to do so, any other gang can roll to pay to get your incensed gang member onto their roster. If more than one gang wants them, hold a blind auction, where each gang writes down how much they'll bid.
